About the conference

The Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Community of Practice (CoP) on Civil Society aims to assist DAC members towards more effective civil society support, engagement, and protection of civic space in line with the DAC Recommendation on Enabling Civil Society in Development Co-operation and Humanitarian Assistance. Held bi-annually, CoP meetings provide a space for informal discussions among DAC members on policies and practices to better enable civil society and build more effective partnerships with civil society actors. The upcoming CoP meeting will take place on 29-30 May in Brussels and will be co-hosted by the European Commission. The civil society work stream within the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate, Reforms and Partnerships for Development Impact division supports the work of the CoP. It does so by convening the CoP for peer learning, facilitating CoP engagement with civil society organisations, and by providing policy research and good practice guidance.

The session on “Peer Learning on locally led development cooperation: Discussion with the DAC CoP on Civil Society and CSO Reference Group on preliminary findings” that will be held on 30 May will provide the opportunity to discuss on the preliminary findings of the OECD DCD peer learning on locally led development.
